Hard to say more about this than others have already said but I will try. This is a really fun lens but also a powerful tool. That said, in many ways it is like Photoshop - the gap between cool fun shot and works of art has a mountain sized learning curve.

The double glass optic is a great choice for a starter lens. It has the largest and easiest to find area that is in focus. Finding and identifying that is key to getting predicable results. When you first start using this, I recommend finding a subject you know well that is also far enough away that you can focus on infinity. Then start shooting with no aperture ring installed at all and the lens fixed to straight ahead. This will give you maximum blur on the edges and the best chance of finding the center focus spot. I made the mistake of trying to shoot stuff close up at first and every time I moved even a tiny bit I lost the focus point. Once you get the hang of focusing, unlock the lens and start moving it around. I started with a subject that had a lot of clearly defined lines so I could move the focus and track it. Once you are comfortable doing that, moving to the aperture rings should be a piece of cake. I have posted some images but they dont really do the product justice. i recommend searching for "Lensbaby" on flickr.

One issue I have with my Lensbaby is that the aperture ring tool does not have a magnet strong enough to lift the rings. I have resorted to using a magnetic tool from my tool kit. I think I got a bad tool because it wont even pick up a ring that isnt in the lens. I need to contact Lensbaby about a replacement.

I cant speak for other brands but on my Pentax K200D I can use Aperture Priority mode and get accurate metering. I cant imagine getting decent results without it so if your brand does not support it, you might want to borrow one before taking the plunge. I assumed I would have to use all manual for the first day and frustration did not begin to describe my feelings.

Once you get past the pure joy of bending focus you will find that the Lensbaby is an excellent lens for portraits and flowers. For portraits you can put the focus on your subjects face and by adjusting the aperture determine how much else is in focus and even how quickly it transitions to blur. Same for flowers . And you can shoot using the rule of thirds in a way the really gives depth to the picture. Traditional lens makers have spent millions preventing focus drop-off at the edges forcing photographers to spend hundreds on Photoshop to blur those same edges! Now you can not only get the blur, you can get as much or as little as you want.

I highly recommend adding the Lensbaby Optic Kit as soon as possible. The difficulty progression is Double Glass, Single Glass, Plastic, Zone Plate and Pinhole but the rewards are worth it. If you can only add one lens, add the plastic. It adds an element of predictable but uncontrollable distortion that is just a ton of fun to explore.

Lensbaby is not for everyone. If your photography consists of happy snaps, documenting life or spending hours on getting tack sharp pictures, dont get one. Maybe some photographers can capture candids of people or moments with a Lensbaby but for me, every picture is a 30 second or more affair. You have to be willing to spend time both taking the pictures and learning how to take the pictures. In my opinion, the rewards justify both but you will have to decide for yourself.

Everything to love about this camera. Only had it a month so durability is still unknown. Already made it through a backpacking trip and some family events. Small enough for my pockets, but I'm a big guy with big pockets.

If you are looking to do manual adjustments and create your own style then this camera will work for you.

Plus the zoom is great, easy to control and digital zoom can be turned off witch is great.

Wish there was a traditional view finder, but those are hard to find today.

Great camera, Cannon is easy to understand and well made.

The Lumix ZS5 reminds me of the finer 70's era stereo equipment. Because of keen competition, the finer stereo equipment was "over-engineered" which contributed to it almost immeasurable quality and durability. Such is the case with the Lumix. Initially I purchased a comparable Canon, but the articles I read about the Lumix ZS5 were etched in my mind...so I ordered the Lumix. Out of the box the stellar quality and workmanship was obvious; the clarity of pictures is perhaps unparalleled for cameras in this category; and the ease of operation is wonderful. The quick start-up time still surprises me and the wide angle Leica lens is remarkable on this camera. It also the right mix of heft without weight so it's comfortable without feeling like a plastic toy! I haven't had the chance to really put the camera through its paces yet, but so far, things seem pretty good.

When I was looking at it in the stores, I was worried about the little toggle for adjusting the zoom... It seemed too small and finnicky and not so easy to control... a bit uncomfortable, too, since it was angled and hard, but I can live with it.

I don't mind the flash popping up. I usually am holding the camera in the area and it keeps the flash down easily.

The LCD screen is a nice size.

I was shooting some indoor shots in low light. The automatic settings--auto, night, indoors--all seemed to over-expose the shots--which was worrying, but I switched to manual (the controls were fairly intuitive, so I didn't have to keep referring to the manual), and could take shots without a tripod. As long as I can get shots fairly easily, I don't mind. But for those wishing for better auto shots in low light, I guess they are correct in complaining, or at least noting the problems.

My expectations aren't high... I just needed a new camera to replace one I've had for five or six years--so just about anything new would be better for me! I wanted this one because I hadn't tried a Canon before and everyone was always raving about them (I'd had Olympuses), and I liked the super-zoom in a small point and shoot. The size and weight is convenient. The color is cute, too. I think it will work for me as a fun little camera that is capable of a bit more (especially regarding the zoom) than the average digital camera.

My old digital camera broke, so I picked this one up as a last minute replacement before a trip. Got it based on price and reviews. I like photos and taking them, but am not a photographer. Looking to document adventures in my life more than do anything artistic.

This camera is easy to use. Was able to do everything I needed to do without reading the manual. Plugged it in my computer (Mac) and iPhoto came up and did everything I needed it to do. Easy as pie! And I am not a technical person, by the way. :)

What amazed me was the great color my photos has. Really bright, really sharp. Made me look like a much better photographer than I am.

Good size. Not the smallest, but comfortable to carry around with you, in a pocket or purse. Display is large enough to tell what is going on, although it's good to have a bit of shade for easy reading.

The last couple of cameras I have purchased have been Nikon. After the great experience with this one, I am definitely getting a Fuji when this one goes out. I expect that to be a few years from now though because it has all the features I need, it's small, and it is well constructed.

This camera case is great and stylish but you must be careful with it. I've lost it twice now, make sure the case is definitely snapped closed before wearing on your wrist otherwise it will fall off your camera without you noticing.

This case is a good fit for my Polaroid t1031 camera. It is well constructed, and the extra storage pocket is adequate for an extra memory card and a spare battery. Don't expect to fit much more in the case, though.

There is enough padding to protect the camera from the typical jostling and moderate bumps that come from normal use. The carabiner-style clip is handy, but it is not bomb proof. If I could make one improvement to the case, it would be to make the clip loop and its stitching more heavy duty.

Overall, this is a good case for the price, and I would purchase it again.

This was my first DSLR. I wanted to buy a high zoom camera back then but I realized that the size of the camera that I wanted to buy was almost the same as this one. So, I decided that I wanted the flexibility of having a camera that has an interchangeable lens system so I went for this.

It's a very good first DSLR. I learned a lot with it, started in the P-mode, then graduated to Av-Mode. I got really good pictures from this and I was able to document significant memories in the early stages of my life with my wife. The pictures were great but I couldn't get anything really useable with shots taken beyond ISO 800. The shot rate is slow so I couldn't follow shooting wild geese, but otherwise, I was able to get really good pics of my friend's then 4 year old son.

I have now since replaced this with a Canon 7D and I've passed this on to a friend but I had great memories of this camera. Looking back, I regretted having given this up. It would've been a nice second, carry-everyday DSLR.

I got the camera right before my 2 week cycling trip. There are a few things I was looking for in a new camera, which would be useful on my cycling trips. One is for sure is AA batteries. While on a go and sleep in a tent, it is pretty often hard to deal with a built-in batteries. Another issue - the use of SD card. I have previously owned Sony camera, which uses Memory Sticks. They are more expensive, messier when you simply want to copy the content, and, once you are done with the Sony camera, pretty much a waste. Recording audio was another my wish. While traveling I try to record my day events every night. Writing it on a piece of paper is way longer. Using voice recorder in a device which is a must on every trip (a camera) is a huge benefit. Plus multiple other features which are pretty much these days on every camera, like video recording, etc.. So I found it all in this camera. And I love it for this. I am not sure about how long the camera itself will last, though. But I have bunch of friends which approved this choice, since in their experience Samsung products last. So, I hope to keep using it for long time.
In the "con" side - the battery charge. It tends to get wrong information about the charge left. And acts accordingly. I had a few situations when it was saying my battery charge is low (with the same batteries), and then after switching it off and on it would be okay again. I use rechargeable batteries and the pair lasted on average for about 200 pictures and a few minutes of video. This is approximately twice as less than my previous Sony camera, but still acceptable. Just make sure you have another set of batteries handy.

This is my third in the Nikon Coolpix line, and I love it just as much as my previous ones! If you're a fan of any Nikon Coolpix, this will certainly be something you like!

My only disappointment is that there isn't a "Sports" setting anymore, which was something I used a lot on my older models. However, the camera takes such fast pictures that it hasn't really become a problem as of yet.

Battery life is good... haven't taken the time to see how many pictures it has per charge, but it's held up through at least 200 pictures at a graduation I went to recently without any battery indications.

The charger is different than previous the Nikon Coolpix cameras I've owned, as it plugs directly into the camera as opposed to having to remove the battery. I'm not sure whether I like this, because the AC OUT cover is kind of stubborn to come out. Again, it's nothing that's become a problem.

The HD movie is pretty cool. I haven't recording much with it, but the quality on it is wonderful. The record button is on the back of the camera, by the menu, which makes it extremely easy to switch from camera to movie. No setting change! This is definitely one of my favorite features, and is perfect if you like to take both stills and video!

The zoom is great, and takes crisp shots from a good distance!

The smart portrait feature is fun, but probably not something I'll really use. It's a good replacement if you don't want to use the self-timer, but again, it's kind of a pointless feature. Still interesting, though.

I haven't played with the Subject Tracker yet, to be honest. I'll add more to this once I get a chance to mess around with it for a little while.

Overall, it's a great camera! Not too heavy, though certainly a little bulkier and heavier than my previous Coolpix camera. Hope this helped!

and this camera is my buddy... I have the lime version and we've been almost everywhere together since December 2007. Just last week, I took it with me to a rock concert and got some great photos (more on that a little later). Even though I'm not much of a drinker since leaving college, I still refer to this as my "drunk proof" camera, because I think it would be absolutely perfect for a bar-hopping college student... you don't have to worry too much about getting it wet or dropping it. I don't worry about it when I leave it out in my truck in freezing temperatures. I've had it out taking pictures when it's really dusty and the wind is blowing dirt around, etc and I just don't worry about it at all.

The one time I did worry was when we were in Maui last May (2009) and my wife (who bought it for me in 2007) wanted to take it with us snorkeling. Well, what the heck right? The first time we took it out, it performed beautifully in the shallow water... no problems at all! Later that day, however, we tried using it in the hotel swimming pool. No problems with the few pictures we took, but soon after that, the camera ceased working. I don't know if it had something to do with the chlorine in the pool or what. No worries - aloha spirit and all that, so I just left it open, took out the battery and card and let it all dry out. It wasn't soaked or anything, but I had the feeling there was some moisture inside. This was unfortunate because while I had my Canon PowerShot with me, I wasn't about to take that down by the water and the cheapo disposable camera we bought on the beach for body boarding pictures ended up getting ruined before we could develop them. A day or two later, the battery still wouldn't work... the light on the charger would just flash like I was crazy for trying. Well, I was a boyscout back in the day, so I had a brand new extra battery with me. After charging that battery (and again, the camera had sat with the door open for a day or two to dry out completely), everything worked just fine... the XD card was fine - just the battery went bad. I've been using the camera ever since. Would I be worried to take it in an ocean or lake with me again? Yes, I would. Honestly, I'd probably just buy a high-quality disposable camera. I can tell you that I would NOT take it in a swimming pool again, that's for sure!

Now that the water issue is out of the way, I wanted to address photo quality. Have I got some grainy pictures with this camera? Yes, I have. Did I try to change the setting to get better pictures? You bet! I feel that you definitely sacrifice a little bit of photo quality with this camera in exchange for some very cool features. However, if you're willing to play with it a little bit and learn some of the settings, you can usually get it figured out and take some really good pictures. For instance, it's very easy and fast to turn the flash on and off (just push right on the control pad) or push the flower button on the left side if you're shooting stuff super close. The top button on the control pad for exposure is awesome... it will show you 4 different possibilities at a time, then press left to see darker settings or right to make it brighter... that's a BIG help and is super fast and easy to do! Also, when I was taking pictures at the concert last week for instance, it was low light (at times) and I was not about to use a flash, so I turned the knob to the little shaky hand (between the SCN and the picture of the camera (auto setting)) and it did great! The local newspaper even put some of the pictures I took on their website! Of course you can also play around with the knob on the SCN setting... Sport is another favorite setting of mine when I'm trying to take pictures of moving people/objects. Available Light is another one I use fairly often. WHEN SHOOTING OUTDOORS (especially in bright sun), turn the knob to GUIDE and press down twice (3 - Shooting into backlight), then press OK (1 - Activate Shadow Adj.) and that helps TREMENDOUSLY! Without that setting, I would be in trouble. I use it almost 100% of the time when I'm outside and the sun is out (sometimes even when it's cloudy and kinda bright). On a side note, the the movie mode works just find and is an additional nice feature this camera offers (I believe it shoots in WAV or some type of Microsoft compatible format - it's not the QuickTime kind). I hope that helps a little bit!

In short, this camera is not perfect, but it's still pretty awesome. You don't need to bother buying a case for this camera! The battery seems to last forever, which is I take for granted sometimes. I do try to charge it up before going out if I know I'm going to be using it a lot (note: it does take a few hours to charge completely). My 2 GB XD card is almost full right now and there are 1800 high-resolution pictures AND some long videos on there! The main reason I can't give this camera 5 stars is because, unfortunately, I would agree that it is questionable under water. Others might not give it 5 stars because of picture quality. It might not take the very best pictures, but I have taken a LOT of really good ones! I will admit that there was a lady next to me at the concert last week with a Canon PowerShot SD940IS (the red one) and she was taking, for the most part, a lot more quality pictures than I was. However, if your buddy spilled some beer on that camera at the bar or if you got bumped and dropped it or if it fell out of your pocket in the car and you left it out in the cold or if you took pictures in the pouring rain or maybe a dust storm... would the Canon hold up like this Olympus Stylus? I doubt it! This Olympus is one TOUGH camera! Take it for what it is. I might buy a Canon for a little bit better quality pictures, but this Olympus will always be my go-to tough guy back-up if nothing else.

After much research into the 'perfect' camera bag, I went with the Cyber II bag.
This case fits my Canon G11 camera perfectly.
Robust padding, yet reasonably slim enough to wear comfortably on my belt.
The strap that allows my belt to go through is triple tacked onto the case.
Not a chance of it ever coming off in the future.
Just enough room for a spare media card, but not an extra battery.
Any case that allows room for a spare battery would also be too bulky for my use.
No negative issues to report whatsoever. Excellent, very well made case at a reasonable price!

I got this camera back in 2001 and, for the 4 years that I used it, I was very pleased.

Pros:
*It performed well in low-light and high-light situations.
*It takes fairly decent pictures, better than one would expect from a 3.2mp camera

Cons:
*There are times when the shutter lags, which caused me to lose the shots I wanted to capture on quite a few occasions.
*It has a tendency to produce very sharp images at times
*The lack of a rechargable battery can make frequent use of this camera expensive. Especially since, on high-end digital camera double A batteries, the average battery life was approximately 50 pictures.

Overall: Great camera for someone new to digital photography and looking to gain some experience with it.

I was looking for a fisheye lens for my Canon XSi digital camera that would give me a lot distortion and interesting effects, like the 16mm lens I had used on my film camera. I first ordered the Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens for Canon SLR Cameras, but (I'm not much of a techno, so who knew?) it seems that the format of the camera influences these characteristics, and it was not extreme enough, so I returned it and got this Sigma lens. Love it! I've posted some photos here from my first outing, since that's what I wanted to see when I was making my decision. The lens seems well-made and sturdy, and comes with a nice case and dandy lens cap. Very happy with this lens!

First of all, I have to admit that I'm a little confused because I purchased this (exact) camera from Amazon a year ago for 0 LESS. I'm not sure why the price jump. Anyway, I love my camera. I would call myself an "amateur enthusiast" as far as my photography knowledge. This camera was perfect for my skill level when I bought it and it has helped me grow as a photographer in the last year.

I haven't had any technical difficulties with it (and i mean, literally, NONE). I shoot mostly in the AV mode and I like to play around in the manual mode. I've been incredibly happy with the super-macro setting quality. I wish it had a wider aperture range but that's only because I may be outgrowing it a little. My next camera will be a (Canon) DSLR but there's no way I could have skipped this model and went straight there. It's quick to start up. I very, very rarely have to wait on it -- only when I realize after a shot that I should have used the flash, then I'm impatient to retake it. The LCD screen is terrific in my opinion and I like that you can pretty much angle this camera any way you want without having to shoot blind.

Before I bought it I read all the reviews so I knew about the lens cap issue and I was expecting random troubles. I have had none. Yeah, the lens cap sucks. A lot. I mean, if you're so much as WALKING hard it will fall off, but it's hardly a deal breaker. It's a minor annoyance that I'll take with the rest of the package. I couldn't be happier with this camera.

If you're a hobby photographer who isn't quite ready for a DSLR then this is the camera for you.

The package has all you need to start using the camera. It has been less than a month since we got it, so far we are very happy, great features. Touchscreen was easier to get used to than we thought. One minor drawback is the video capability; compared to the quality of the camera, it is lower than expected. This bag works great for my use. It will hold my D90 w/vertical grip, 18-200 zoom, 10-24 zoom, 50mm prime, sb600, two battery chargers and all the filters I normally carry quite easily. It is padded well, with 2 side pockets and a large front pocket and a net pocket in the cover. I like to travel light most of the time, so I never usually fill the bag with everything. The neck strap could be a bit more comfortable. For use on the job, I had a waist pack strap made for this bag and like it even more. If you are going to take every lens you have with you, this is probably not the right bag, but for the average user with 2-3 lens it would work great. You might even be able to sneak your lunch in there somewhere.

I recently inherited my school's annual staff....the former adviser left me with a 00 debt and one Nikon D70 that didn't work. I personally own a D50 and have recently upgraded to a D90. I love my Nikons and have always been loyal to the Nikor/Nikon lens. In order to shoot the "keep your distance" sports (softball, baseball, etc), I had to have a lens that was 1)affordable and 2) could get me the most distance for my money since my Nikor 70-200mm just did not have the reach I needed to shoot these types of sports. While I have big dreams for a more professional sports lens, this lens performs well-beyond the price tag! I must admit that I was very leary of the quality it could produce. I shot a tennis match today and was VERY pleased. The lens did everything I needed it to do when I wanted it to do it. I didn't find the lens to be too slow or too bulky. The Nikon lens was MUCH more expensive. You can't beat a Nikor/Nikon lens, but this one certainly gives those of us with "limited funds" a quality option. If you are looking for a less-expensive way to get a quality zoom lens, you can't go wrong with this one--plus you get a macro lens to boot!

I bought this camera before the arrival of my first child. I wanted something that would focus quickly and take good quality pictures. The Nikon D60 more than satisfied my needs. As I became more conversant with the use of my D60, I wanted to take portraits with a larger aperture so that the background would be blur. The included lens will not suffice. You would need a more expensive lens with a larger aperture.

While I am not a huge fan of using a flash, the built in flash does come in handy but beware that it is useful for only short range.

Overall I have enjoyed this camera and would recommend it highly for basic everyday use. My next acquisition will be a 55-200 f4.5 VR lens. I'm going to stick to the casual amateur equipment. The prices are more sane.

I purchased this camera as a replacement to my Canon PowerShot SD600. The main reason I chose to replace it was for the IS feature. When I purchased to SD600 it was on sale and the IS features on cameras were an expensive option on upgraded models. I have to say the feature performs as expected. Obviously it's not going to do much if there is a lot of camera shake, but it does the job for what it's intended to do. Picture quality is excellent. Low light does well despite the reviews I've heard. Manual settings do just as well as auto settings. I like the playback button that lets you review pics rather than having to switch the camera into another mode. When taking multiple shots the lag time between pics is minimal. Videos work well with it but there is that pesky no in and out zoom during a video. Sound quality was surprisingly good with video mode as well. It takes outdoor video well with little wind noise. I was a bit cautious about buying a camera with no viewfinder as my last camera had one, but let's face it, I hardly used it when I had it. Insisting on a camera with a viewfinder also significantly limited my choices for point and shoots. I'm satisfied with no viewfinder and this camera is exactly what I expect in a good point and shoot. I considered the SD1200IS since it was on sale and a little less expensive but I figured for a few extra features, it's worth the extra . Battery life is great! Even under moderate to heavy use it lasted all night and part of the next day. I'd suggest always having another battery pack as a backup though as you never know when you might need it. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a quality point and shoot. For the price I don't think you can ask for much more in a compact digital camera.

Before buying this item, I did lot of research on all types of tripod.

1. All Flexi mini Tripods in this category are same except Brand name on Tripod. I purchased Zeikos and other 2 brands from Amazon.

I tried this tripod on Sony Cybershot DSC (Whose tripod holder is not at center place (Sony likes different)). but I did not face any issue with that.
This Tripod strong enough for a Canon SX10IS.(its similar to SLR without additional lenses. But You need to spread out the legs of Tripod.)

2. I bought this mini Flexi tripod and ended up making this my travel companion. Here are my reasons for liking it a lot:
- It's sturdier than I expected. The rubber feet prevent slipping and the flexible legs can easily hold a typical camera without bending under the weight.
- While it's light enough to carry around, you can keep in your pocket. Flexi Tripod size is less than 6".
- With the legs spread out at the bottom it makes a great grip for little cameras.
- Its perfect replacement for Mini Tripod also Mini Tripod are more bulkier, heavier.
- Flexi Tripod helps you a lot to take pictures on self timer with less space available for Tripod.
- You can spread out the legs also bend/twist the legs (not at great extend)to adjust the angle.
- Unlike straight-leg tripods, you can make the feet grip a vertical edge, like a cube partition.
- shooting at a low speed and risk of blurring the shot, You can use any object/ place for stability (6" X 6" place is more than enough)
- Very nice tripod for who thinks they are not professional photographers.

Drawbacks
- One design drawback is the mounting screw is fixed. You don't get a little thumb knob to twist when mounting the camera, you have to rotate the whole tripod. But it's so small and the legs squeeze together so close that it's easy to do.
- Tripod height is less if you keep on ground its but obvious it makes some angle when you are standing for photograph.
- I am not sure about life of this Tripod, But It can go for 2-3 years at least :)

I have abused this camera beyond abusing a camera should go and this bad boy is still working just as good. I have stepped on it, dropped it, lost it in the snow, it has tumbled out of my pocket down dirt trails and gets thrown in my backpack with no case. The only real damage I have done to it is a cracked the back screen, but the screen still works perfectly. I love this camera a lot. It takes great pictures.

-There is a guide and it adjusts the mode for close up, super close up, shooting with back light and so many other great features. it takes good action shots. The key to taking them is to focus by pushing the button half way then the second you want the shot to take you finish out the push and it takes the photo instantly.

-The video mode does not produce anything amazingly epic, but it does the job. You can take screen shots off video...they again are not great but you can do it. I have taken action videos, they upload to youtube really well, but anything larger size and they are not so great.

-There are decoration options on the camera, you can add borders and such. I never really use that option.

I use the self timer a lot. It is like 20 seconds or something like that. has come quite in handy many many times.

I really like the night photo option. You can take some amazing night shots. Just make sure it has a tripod or something steady to set it on or the photo will be blurry.

I have yet to have a digital camera last over a year with the abuse I give it and this one is at a year and a half and still counting.

The Large LCD screen is awesome on the back for viewing photos. But make sure you hav it self shut off when not in use or it will eat your battery. Get a spare battery. the annoying thing about the batter is you need to remember the charger and you have to take the battery OUT of the camera and put it in the charger. It would be nicer if you could leave it in the camera and charge the camera and be able to turn it on to upload photos while charging. But I guess this is the case with lots of digital cameras with the lithium batteries.
-The battery drains when it is cold! So when i take it snowboarding I keep it in the warmest pocket possible. That is one thing that is very annoying about the camera and my biggest complaint. But if kept warm there is not problem.

I had to send the first one back because the VC didn't work and would lock up my camera functions. Apparently this is a mysterious problem with this lens and the Nikon D700 that has no correlation between the serial numbers & etc. This being a non Nikon brand lens, there is of course not much help or answers out there as to why this happens or what can fix the problem. The D700 just doesn't like certain lenses of this model. I did try it on my Nikon N65 film camera and it seemed to work fine. Amazon sent me a new one within three days, and I got it before I had time to mail off the "defective" one that didn't work on my D700! Great service, by the way!!! The 2nd one worked fine and I have been enjoying using it for a several months now.

Nice contrast, sharpness, and few aberrations. I will say the only draw back being the speed. #1 It takes quite a while for the auto focus to work on my D700 in low light, even with the annoying focus assisting light on the camera. #2 The 3.5 aperture is only available when you are at 28mm, so this limits your range of creative control. Because of these two factors, this is not the greatest low light/indoor/available light lens especially if you are shooting anything that is moving. Vibration control helps a little, giving you about 1 stop more when shooting hand held. If you want a fast and great low light lens go with the prime Nikon 85mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras or Nikon 50mm f/1.4G SIC SW Prime Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras.

Overall, the versatility of this Tamron 28-300mm, wide angle to telephoto zoom, with a short focusing distance, that is very compact and portable, with vibration control, is a good one for my general shooting needs. I have used this for portrait, architectural, landscape, nature, and food photography with great results.

As the Canon Powershot S5IS camera has 36mm at the extreme wide angle, it helps to attach the WC-DC58A Wide Angle Converter Lense for covering more horizontal and vertical view of any given scene, as it gives 27mm at the extreme wide angle. I have found it satifactorily suitable when there is no sufficient space for taking a step back ( without the WC, as one of the reviewer has suggested ). The pictures are sharp and detailed. The horizontal and vertical distortion are normal for any Wide Angle Lense, only that people use different softwares to correct this under post processing.I like unprocessed images. My experience with this Lense is that the enlargement capacity of the created images is limited. Pictures look grainy after a certain degree of enlagement. Any how, if the pictures are not to be blown up to poster size, this is a good lense for the purpose it is meant for. Many people have complained about the semi-circular shadow when using the built-in flash. The manual, which comes with the camera, already suggests this situation and recommends to use an external flash. Hence, one has to go with the recommendation ( only sensible and fair ).
With this attachment there seems to be an effect on the camera's Automatic focus and white balance operations, some times, particularly during night time even with the external flash. As for the construction quality, I am not sure about how hard or how fragile is the plastic, as I have not dropped it yet. Usage of the lense is very easy. I have used this lense at a wedding party of one of my close relatives and found that the results are very good. I can recommend this lense for the Pro series -S cameras (S2,S3&S5).

I recently upgraded to a Fujifilm Finepix A850 Digital Camera 8.1 Megapixels 3x Optical Zoom ISO800 (Picture Stabilization) 2.5-inch LCD that I'm no where near as pleased with as I with this one. And most times, I will still use this camera when taking indoor photos.

This is an excellent camera that takes quality photos and will last for many years.

Fujifilm FinePix 2650 2MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom Specifications

The FinePix 2650 proves that entry-level digital cameras don't necessarily have to take mediocre pictures or skimp on the features. Unlike many other cameras at this price, this model offers a limited amount of manual control, with six white balance modes and four different flash modes. Of course, everything can be set to automatic as well, and that's where this camera is in its element.

Offering only 2 megapixels, the FinePix 2650 isn't going to stun you with finely detailed images, but it is perfectly adequate for creating small prints or snapping photos you plan to e-mail or use on a Web site. Its color reproduction is impressive, as the camera doesn't suffer from the supersaturation problems that plague lesser products in this price range. Colors are bright but accurate, and don't "bleed" very much due to compression.

Unfortunately the viewfinder cuts off a surprisingly large part of the final image, making it difficult to frame shots. The excellent LCD on the back of the camera compensates, of course, and for the types of pictures most people will use this camera for it's a minor problem.

Of greater concern is the long interval of image processing after a shot is snapped. The camera churns away compressing and storing an image for up to 8 seconds after each picture, eliminating the possibility of taking shots in quick succession.

Otherwise, the included 16 MB xD-Picture Card is fast during transfers and when images are erased, although users may want to upgrade to a larger card if they plan to stick with high-quality images of 1,600 x 1,200. Despite its few problems, the FinePix 2650 remains an excellent light-duty snapshot camera. --T. Byrl Baker

It is much more convenient to have this tether than to have to take time to put the cap in a pocket.
Now clipping the cap to the camera strap, I feel a little more secure with the tether being there as well.
Why Canon did not put a tether is beyond me.

This is the first video camera I have owned and I love it. It is very easy to use and is so compact that I carry it in my purse all the time! You never know when you might need to shoot a little video! It shoots really sharp and clear video, even in 720p. The zoom is limited and not as smooth and sensitive as you might like but I haven't found that to be too big a problem so far. It is also true, as other reviewers have noted, that the internal mike is not great. For day to day use though it is adequate and the camera does have a jack for an external mike (which I have not tried.) I will be travelling to Africa with my daughter and son-in-law for an international adoption in the future. My assignment is to document the trip and that's why I wanted a video camera. I wanted something that would be very easy to use, easy to carry around and easy to upload to the internet while we are travelling. The Zi8 meets all of those criteria. This camera has a very easily accessible USB connection to plug into the laptop and I expect it to be very easy to keep the home folks informed--not to mention all the fun when the grandchildren come home!

1) read enough other reviews so you can take this in perspective.

2) ordered it, sipped and arrived with no trouble. Putting it on was brainless. I see where I'll have to use some exacto-knives to cut away the area for my remote triggering devices. but since most people don't do that type of 'bulb' shot -- I'm thinking about the Leonid Meteor shower in November where I spend most of the night with my lens open at the sky -- it's not a design flaw -- the fewer the holes, the 'tighter' the case. Though I do wonder about their uses of 'flaps'.

3) Which brings me to the problem -- the hot shoe mount did rip on my unit, not a lot, but a little -- and some of the very sticky black electrical tape (not included, go to your ACE store or use duct tape) DOES work to keep it in place -- but it would be nice if they had flaps that set in and strapped across so if a tear started it would stop and not get larger. I'm not one to bitch very much so this problem is minimal since a lot of my shots are with lights on my macro, and seldom involve a cord and slave.

4) MY PROBLEM -- and not a big one YET -- is that I need to set the diopter over and over and over and over -- and it is covered, and for some reason it turns itself or one of my dogs or I seem to turn it a click or two one way or the other every now and then -- there is absolutely no way to get to the diopter adjustment -- without pulling back the base of the already ripping hot-shoe protector and, wishing for a third finger - focus it .......AGAIN!!! I night need to cut a hole for the diopter adjustment and then cover it with a flap of electrical tape of duct tape -- it would only take about five minutes start to stop.

It's not a big problem so I've ignored it -- and I can deal with it though holding the box up to my eye, pulling back the rubber and then turning the dial all at the same time. Not EASY but doable and worth the trouble by far! but the new hole would be wonderful, but I can see why it's not there, it would weaken the hot-shoe protector even more.

I took the advice of the person who said get the smoke, it shows less dirt, I did and was glad. He was right -- I'd hate to see what my camera would look like with the black armor.

They don't show it, but the sun lens will work forward on the lens, that is like it's suppose to, but you can't store it on your lens like you used to -- backwards -- so it's nice that it doesn't mean you can't use it on your lens, or that you have to use their roll forward pseudo-lens cover. But it's a drag to carry the sun shade separate. For most folks their sunshade is probably more than OK.

They need to make a lens cover for the larger lenses and make a set of lens covers for the smaller lenses that could be shipped together with the body and one lens cover -- I've got 4 lenses that I carry, and only the main carry lens has a cover on the end. They do make them, but not for the large (small f) lenses.

DOES IT REALLY WORK?

IN one word, yeah. in TWO words, IT ROCKS! exceptionally well. I have 4 retired sled dogs who travel with me as companions all the time -- the inside of my car or truck is not set up for people, it's set up for wildland photography and for the dogs. One dog sleeps with it's paw on my camera -- before I wasn't happy, but that's how she's slept for 15 years ever since a trick hit her (she's 20 now) and so now I don't even worry a little about the camera well a little -- but only because it's about a 4 month old canon 5D with a reasonably large lens on it.

I'd have given it a 5 star, but that diopter and ripping of the hot-shoe flap is still a problem, even when you know it is, and are careful --

WOULD I BUY ONE AGAIN? YES. ABSOLUTELY

I generally buy my equiptment in Reno as I was kicked out of a store in Roseville, and never did find the one in Sacramento -- I guess I looked a little 'rough around the edges' for city folk. So, I asked in Reno if they had heard of the armor and they said yes. I asked why they didn't tell me and how often they sell it -- and their answer was revealing: 1) they didn't know what kind of photographer I was -- meaning how good or how prolific, and more telling they likened it to a surge protector -- EVERYONE needs a surge protector. EVERYONE - but few buy one, they say that they will be careful and turn their computer off if it starts to storm -- (BTW, 'storms' are only about 10% of the problem) --- but its really quite difficult to travel at 186,000 miles per second to unplug you computer if you actually SEE the strike. Most people say they will use a strap with their camera-- and I don't even pretend I'll use a strap, maybe when walking -- but not when shooting, I am either freehand or on a tri-pod -- So the Armor is VERY cheap insurance for a very expensive camera. and lens. BTW -- you can take a plastic bag and use a rubber band on one end, the armor plate on the other, and you have an exceptional waterRESISTANT lens cover for very cheap -- just open it ujp every night when you go to bed to let the lens 'air out'. Their inclusion of the Plexiglas (or what ever) cover for the LED screen on the back of the camera has already saved mine once and I try to be careful -- but stuff happens -- and we all know it does, so be ready -- and just know that the four stars are because it DID rip at the hot shoe even when I was careful, and I didn't keep picking at it -- though the diopter adjustment makes me keep pulling the cover away -- a VERY small price to pay for the protection.

Attracts dirt? ha! maybe for the first couple of weeks, then it seems to repel it -- listen, you haven't seen the inside of my vehicles -- dust and dirt -- from red clay dust to gray power volcanic ash -- and hairs -- from a black and gray Malamute and a black and white Siberian husky and coyote brown-tan from an Alaskan husky and a blackish whitish tan from another Alaskan Husky you haven't even SEEN dirt until you've seen the inside of either of my two travel vehicles -- and at first I kept looking for attracting more dirt -- and here is what I found -- IN THE BEGINNING I did get a few more dog hairs -- and maybe some more dirt and dust, but after the first month or two, I think it really DOES protect the inside -- I look at my mirror and prism -- I lock it up and look -- and it's as clean as the day I got it -- and I'm looking with a Nikon SMZ-800 with thorough the lens lighting at about 100x and it's CLEAN. I would budget this into any camera I own now that I own it and have seen how well it works!, just like I always budget in a new surge protector for the computers I buy. I am using this lens on a Panasonic Lumix L1 and took it to a large party/rehearsal dinner where people were frantically milling and mingling around and I really enjoyed weaving in and out of the crowd snapping candids with this lens. It was so refreshing not having to worry about fiddling with a zoom ring and allowed for rapid point and shoot style shooting that gave me a great advantage in capturing the flurry of the moment and great candids.

I only gave it 4 stars because of the following: 1) as others have stated in photo forums, this lens, after you screw it on about 2/3's the way, the last 1/3 of the twist is very hard to do because it is a extremely tight fit so much so that it feels wrong. None of my other Olympus lens' fit like this -- they all twist on firmly with ease. 2) this is the first Olympus lens I've purchased that is made in China (all my other ones are made in Japan) 3) I feel this lens in over-priced for a fixed lens, especially a pancake that has very little glass in it and is also made in China -- this lens should cost around 0. (Because of the bad fit, I may send this back and try another one to see if it fits better)

For those of you who own a Lumix L1, I can tell you this is the lens that should have been supplied with the camera as a kit lens -- it changes the whole attitude and functionality of the camera, and finally, the L1 has a lens that matches its range-finder body style. This lens just encourages the joy of shooting by enabling you to concentrate on your subjects.

I bought this camera case along with my now-antiquated Canon A60 camera a few years back. I use it to keep my camera well-protected on my hikes. I love it for its functionality and durability. Here are some of its features along with some pros and cons:

Features:

- PVC exterior - makes it splash proof
- Plush fabric interior won't scratch camera
- Pouch large enough for a set of 2 AA batteries OR a few SD/CF cards
- Padded to adequately protect camera from light bumps and scratches
- Velcro securely fastens flap

Pros:

- Exterior is easy to clean - just wipe with a damp cloth
- Snug fit with no wiggle room
- Easy open and close Velcro flap
- Compact - not very much bigger than the camera
- Well-made and durable
- Attractive - light grey with dark grey border

Cons:

- belt loop is sewed on the back - no belt clip
- pouch doesn't hold very much - at most 2 AA batteries OR a few SD/CF cards

Personally, I love it for its simplicity. I needed a camera case to simply protect my camera from dirt, dust, scratches, and bumps - and the Canon PSC-60 fits the bill perfectly.

If you need a bigger pouch to hold 4 AA batteries, consider the PSC-65, which has pretty favorable reviews. If you need a basic, no-frills, compact camera case that is functional, durable, and attractive, the Canon PSC-60 Camera Case will do very nicely.

This is my first digital camera purchase. I didn't want to go too high end or too low end. I loved the price of this one, it is really affordable, and its cute and compact. The pics are excellent.
If I had one problem with this camera is that it has virtually no memory! Takes half dozen pics and BAM you need a memory card if you want more. Oh well, its still an asweome camera and I'm really glad I bought it.

I bought this case despite the fact that my camera model wasn't listed along with the suitable camera models. However, it did list the SD1000, which is perhaps the closest to my Canon SD1100. I received the case today, and it looks great! Better yet, it fits my camera perfectly! The neck strap is something I probably won't use, but it is nice in quality. Also, the extra battery is definitely nice to have. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality case for their Canon Digital Elph.

Well I finally made the jump and purchased this lens. It has met my expectations though I can see how I probably would not prefer this lens for high speed sports shooting! However I feel it will serve my purpose for photo shoots, family photos and possibly wedding photos. All in all I am very satisfied with the optics, build and weight of this lens. I currently own the Tokina ATX 80-200 f2.8 lens which is really heavy, the Tamron lens is a lot lighter.

I love Kata camera bags and already own a DR-467 backpack that is big enough for all my gear including my laptop, but it is kind of heavy to carry around everyday. I was looking for a nice looking bag that did not look like a camera bag and could fit a Nikon D200, SB-600, and a couple of lenses plus wallet, small make-up bag, small notebook, cell phone, keys and other small items for everyday use. This camera is one of the greatest cameras I have ever used. I travel ALOT during the summer and with this camera all of my memories have been kept. It is very easy to get used to and after, you dont want to use a different camera ever again. My problem was when we were running through the rain it fell out of my pocket into the lake, and ofcourse no good camera likes that. And so now I am not even going on to a newer version of this camer. I bought the exact same kind.

The pictures at wonderful and the zoom is outstanding! It takes very clear zoom pictures and has many great settings. There is a setting my friend likes, who is a photographer and doest have that setting on his camera, that picks out different colors and makes everything else black and white, right when you take the picture!

This camer is the way and the only way to go!

This case is a perfect fit for my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3. Normally, I do not like Built products because they design many of their products with extra wasted space -- wide corners - which looks cool but not practical. This case is one exception -- it is actually nice to have the slightly extra wide corners to help slide the camera into place -- the camera is slighly wider on one end, so it is a perfect fit.

The case also has an pocket inside that you can slide extra memory cards or batteries into. Perfect!

The only thing I wish it had was a loop on the outside to hook a carabiner clip to - so that I can clip it to my backpack or purse. I also wish there were other colors or pattern choices. (Black is too boring, pink is too bright and clashes with my red camera, the dots is cute and fun but definitely girlish)

Nice easy to use camera with excellent picture quality. Had a 16x24 poster made off of camera turned out great. One down fall is i had to purchase a new battery within a year. If you do have to replace battery make sure you get the real nikon battery. I have owned the xsi for about six months now. Overall it's a good camera, with just a few quirks. The image quality is good although it sometimes takes awhile to hone in on your target in AF mode. I love the larger screen on this camera - a definite step up from my Rebel XT. The flash really leaves something to be desired, especially when it fires several times prior to taking a picture in low-light. My camera had the dreaded "BUSY" reading that many people have complained about. It is currently on it's way back from Canon's repair facility and I'm hoping they found a solution to the problem. A good starter dslr, but with it's plastic body and so-so results, I'm wishing I'd have gone with the 50D instead.
